Lorde has announced that she will no longer be embarking on her tour of Australia this summer after being ordered to rest by her parents and management team who have grown concerned for her poor health.
The 17-year-old has had a hectic schedule since her triumph at the Grammys earlier this year, performing at a number of festivals and other award shows in support of her debut album ‘Pure Heroine.’

However, it seems the heavy workload has taken its toll on Lorde who has now postponed her Australian tour.
“I have had to postpone my Australian shows because of a nasty chest infection and general ill health,” Lorde tweeted yesterday.
“I am so so gutted to have to do this but my parents and my team stepped in telling me I needed a break after being non-stop since the Grammys in January.”
She continued: “We will 100% be back for this tour (most likely in November) so don’t worry about that.
“I just need time to get back to full gollum girl fitness before i go out playing shows again. I’m truly sorry if i let you down or if you feel inconvenienced by this and i hope you can understand.”
While fans in Australia will have to wait to see the hitmaker live, it’s good news for her supporters in London as the ‘Royals’ star has announced a one-off show for the city on June 6 where she’ll play Brixton Academy.
